This exciting eight part webinar series features Dr. Iris Chen, a remarkable and diversified practitioner.
Dr. Chen practices as a licensed Acupuncture Physician in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She earned her M.D. at Medical school of Beijing University, in Beijing, China, and her Ph.D. in molecular biology at McMaster University. Born in China, Dr. Chen grew up in a hospital where her mother worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist. Those early years of exposure to illness and suffering touched her so deeply that she committed herself to healing, and particularly to the prevention of illness. While most of her classmates practice Western Medicine in the United States, Dr. Chen decided to focus on Chinese Medicine, using her Western Medicine training to enhance her understanding of illness and ability to care for her patients.
Dr. Chen has a unique story to tell about the modern influences on Chinese Medicine. Her comprehensive and substantial background offers invaluable insights into Chinese Medicine and today’s increasingly complex healthcare.
What people are saying about Essences of Chinese Medicine (1 of 8):
“I loved the personal feeling evoked by the teacher and her sincere wish to inspire us to be better practitioners.” R.S. (MD)
“I like the clinical pearls especially the treatment principles as well as how the Energetix remedies are used for Chinese medicine patterns.” SK (AZ)
Dr. Chen's "Clinical Pearls":
• The body is designed to heal when given what it needs.
• We all have strengths; focus on these for a more successful practice.
• When a body is in survival mode, do not force detoxification.
• Being able to think through the healing process is more important than matching remedies to symptoms.
• Arthritis: tired, full of toxins, build energy. Then start general detoxification (Liver-Tone, Kidney-Tone, Lymph-Tone II)
• Bronchitis: large intestines part of lung energy system. Get rid of fire, infection goes away (Colon Clear)
• Hot flashes, night sweats (menopause): heat caused by cold deficiency, nurture Yin, imbalance goes away.
• Damp heat in the liver: depends on the situation (Liver Tone or GB Tone or Hepata-Chord with Core Dandi Blend
• Diarrhea / bacteria: increase Yang (Adrenal Force, Flora Synergy)
